◇ 3 x prenatal appointments, via video call, in which we will discuss your preferences, dive deep into any concerns or questions, and prepare mentally and physically for the birth of your baby and for the postpartum period
◇ Text message or email support throughout
◇ 24/7 support during labor - I will be available to you (and your partner) via phone throughout your labor, to offer guidance and suggestions, help you understand procedures, and answer questions about how to proceed or what’s happening. I’ll be the calm voice on the screen or on the phone, grounding you and keeping you encouraged and informed.
◇ Assistance in writing your birth plan, if required
◇ 2 x postpartum appointments, via video call, to review your birth, answer your questions and give tips regarding feeding, newborn behavior and care.
◇ Access to my extensive collection of PDF handouts on a myriad of topics
Would a virtual service work better for you?
My virtual doula offering gives you all the knowledge, all the tips, all the encouragement and confidence that I give to all my clients - but delivered remotely, rather than in-person. Our interactions are done through video chats, phone calls, and online communication to offer you reassurance, education and support throughout your pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
Why hire a “virtual” doula?
◇ If you want the expertise and support a doula can offer, but prefer to keep the birth space private.
◇ If you live remotely, or don’t have a doula in your town.
◇ If you feel comfortable handling the birth itself on your own, but would like someone to bounce off for advice, understanding, and support during pregnancy and postpartum.
◇ A worldwide pandemic prevents you from using a doula in person!
Being your virtual doula means that even though I am not physically with you, I am WITH YOU - supporting you, getting excited with you, guiding you and cheering you on. I treasure my strong connections with all my clients and work hard to build our relationship, even though we’re not in the same room. I work to make sure you feel confident, comfortable and secure – so that on the day of your baby’s birth, you can feel that I’m part of your team, someone who will share in your joy and achievement.
